The Santa Cruz County Environmental Health Division lobby is currently open for business by appointment only. You may request an appointment to meet with staff to discuss a matter or with our Administrative Support staff to submit an application and make a payment. To request an appointment either send us an email or call 454-2022. Email is checked regularly during business hours Monday through Friday. We continue to encourage you to use email to conduct business.

For documents that cannot be emailed, there is a secure drop-off box on the first floor of 701 Ocean Street. Look for the drop-off box with a sign labeled ‘Building, Planning, and Environmental Health’. Forms, applications and other information can be found on this website.

Applications can be accepted by emailing the required paperwork to: env.hlth@santacruzcounty.us

Payment of fees can be completed online after you receive an invoice in your email.

NOTICE:
The California Department of Public Health has issued a limited Stay at Home Order in counties with Widespread Status. According to this order individuals must cease all non-essential work, movement and gatherings between the hours of 10PM and 5AM daily effective 10PM November 21 to 5AM December 21, 2020.

As of Monday, November 16, 2020, Santa Cruz County's status is:

  WIDESPREAD 

According to the Governor's Blueprint for a Safer Economy, the following can occur with modifications under this status:

  • Restaurants can open for drive-thru, take-out, delivery or outdoor dining only with modifications (discontinue indoor dine-in service)

  • Wineries and Tasting Rooms can open outdoors only with modifications

  • Family Entertainment Centers and Cardrooms can open outdoors only with modifications

  • Bars, Brewpubs, Breweries, Distilleries and Pubs are closed

  • Grocery Stores can continue at 50% capacity

  • Movie Theatres can open outdoors only with modifications

  • Gyms and Fitness Centers can open outdoors only

  • Commercial Outdoor Pools and Spas can open with modifications

  • Commercial Indoor Pools are closed

  • Indoor Spas/ Hot Tubs and Saunas must remain closed

  • Body Art, Piercing Facilities, Estheticians, Skin and Hair Services can open indoors with modifications

  • Daycamps, Campgrounds and Outdoor Recreation can open with modifications

  • Indoor Playgrounds (Bounce Centers/Ball Pits/Laser Tag) are closed

  • Festivals and Concerts cannot be held or operate

Pay by Credit/Debit Card or E-Check - You must know your Environmental Health Invoice Number to pay by credit/debit card  Paying on line does not eliminate the need to return any required signed, original documents. Permits will not be issued until both payment and any required signed documents are submitted.
