Hazardous Materials Management Plans

A large variety of hazardous materials are generated, stored, transported, treated and disposed of throughout the county. These hazardous materials are potential threats to human health and/or the environment.

Per state and local requirements, all businesses and agricultural operations that store or handle specified quantities of hazardous materials must provide EHS with a hazardous materials management plan (HMMP), also called a business plan, detailing the location and quantities of their hazardous materials and wastes.

That information is then made available to emergency responders such as firefighters and medical personnel. Most such information is also available to the public under the "right-to-know" provision of the law.
