The Santa Cruz County Environmental Health Division lobby is currently open for business by appointment only. You may request an appointment to meet with staff to discuss a matter or with our Administrative Support staff to submit an application and make a payment. To request an appointment either send us an email or call 454-2022. Email is checked regularly during business hours Monday through Friday. We continue to encourage you to use email to conduct business.

For documents that cannot be emailed, there is a secure drop-off box on the first floor of 701 Ocean Street. Look for the drop-off box with a sign labeled ‘Building, Planning, and Environmental Health’. Forms, applications and other information can be found on this website.

Applications can be accepted by emailing the required paperwork to: env.hlth@santacruzcounty.us

Payment of fees can be completed online after you receive an invoice in your email.

NOTICE:
The ICU capacity in our region has dropped below 15%. Effective, Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 11:59PM, through at least 3 weeks (more if we continue to fall below 15% ICU capacity), the Santa Cruz County will be under a:

REGIONAL STAY AT HOME ORDER 

According to the Governor's Blueprint for a Safer Economy, the following can occur with modifications under this status:

  • Restaurants can open for drive-thru, take-out, or delivery only  (discontinue indoor and outdoor dine-in service)

  • Grocery Stores can continue at 35% capacity

  • Wineries and Tasting Rooms are closed

  • Family Entertainment Centers and Cardrooms are closed

  • Bars, Brewpubs, Breweries, Distilleries and Pubs are closed

  • Movie Theatres are closed, except for drive-in 

  • Gyms and Fitness Centers can open outdoors only

  • Outdoor Commercial Pools and Spas can open with modifications

  • Indoor Commercial Pools are closed

  • Indoor Spas/ Hot Tubs and Saunas are closed

  • Body Art, Piercing Facilities, Estheticians, Skin and Hair Services are closed

  • Daycamps, Campgrounds and Outdoor Recreation can operate outdoors

  • Indoor Playgrounds (Bounce Centers/Ball Pits/Laser Tag) are closed

  • Festivals and Concerts cannot be held or operate

  • Retail Stores and Shopping Centers can continue at 20% capacity

  • Hotels and Lodging can continue to allow for COVID-19 mitigation and containment measures, treatment measures, provide accommodation for essential workers, or providing housing solutions, including measures to protect the homeless population

Pay by Credit/Debit Card or E-Check - You must know your Environmental Health Invoice Number to pay by credit/debit card  Paying on line does not eliminate the need to return any required signed, original documents. Permits will not be issued until both payment and any required signed documents are submitted.
